POGO is a division of Stevens Water Monitoring Systems Inc. Founded in 1911, Stevens is a privately-owned company based in Portland, Oregon, USA. Stevens develops innovative technologies for measuring and monitoring the earth's valuable water resources in every form it occurs—on the surface, in the air, under ground and in the soil.
The POGO Pro and POGO mini are both based on Stevens' patented HydraProbe soil sensor, originally developed in the late 1990s. HydraProbe uses a unique technology called "Coaxial Impedance" which gives POGO its accuracy and precision in all soils and salinity levels without requiring calibration. HydraProbe is used in more water supply and climatological networks worldwide than any other soil sensor.

When Stevens Water decided to enter the golf and sports turf markets, we sought out a recognized industry leader. We found that and more in Carmen Magro, CGCS, Professional Agronomist and MBA. Carmen has served as the Director of the Golf Course Turfgrass Management Program and research facilities at Penn State University, and a researcher and consultant in his 25 year career. For the past decade he has focused primarily on using technology to optimize turfgrass management practices, water use and integration of environmental stresses as they impact turfgrass health and performance.
Today, Carmen is runs the POGO division and serves as Stevens' Vice President of Business development and Chief Agronomist.
